Cost of Attendance Appeal

This form requests that we review your cost of attendance and financial aid eligibility if you have expenses that are higher than the amount in your UMD standard cost of attendance (COA).

This appeal covers expenses related to tuition and fees, University-sponsored health benefit plan, computer purchase for educational use, housing, transportation, and childcare.

The following documentation may be needed:

  • Computer and/or software receipt(s)
  • Copy of your lease and at least three month’s utility bills for off-campus housing
  • Childcare account summary and a childcare provider statement

Use this form if...

  • You are an active, degree-seeking, UMD student eligible for financial aid
  • You have expenses related to your education that are higher than the amount in your UMD standard cost of attendance (COA)

Don't use this form if...

  • You are a non-degree or guest student and you are not eligible for financial aid
